Our Location
Fongrave is a village on the river Lot, situated in the heart of the beautiful region of Lot-et-Garonne in south-western France. We are located 4km east of Castelmoron-sur-Lot and 6km west of Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot. From here you can explore the history, vineyards and bastides of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Lot-et-Garonne is a region of good food, relaxed living with incredible tourist attractions and is known for its conviviality, good living and numerous Bastides and Castles along the rivers Lot and Garonne. The region was the scene of many battles between the English and French during the Hundred Years War and home of the Black Prince.
Lot et Garonne has over 200km of waterways and the rivers are tranquil and navigable, with riverside restaurants, fishing and water sports available. Fongrave is in the centre of the region, providing easy access to all the major towns including Agen, Marmande, Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Duras, Nérac and Monflanquin. We recommend guests who want to explore and make the most of their trip to this beautiful area have access to a vehicle. More information about our region can be found here.
The House
The house was built in 1870 and sits at the heart of the village. It was fully renovated in 2024 and is a two-minute walk to the river, where you can enjoy fishing, boating and water sports. The property enjoys private gardens, a large terrace, a boules court and children’s play area and a swimming pool all available to our guests. Children must be supervised by adults at all times.
You can enjoy the village life, eat in the local restaurant and beer garden less than 200 metres from Les Martinets. During the summer enjoy Fongrave’s Thursday night market, enjoying food from local producers with music and dancing into the night, all within a 2 minute walk of the property. If Thursday doesn’t suit, there are night markets within 30 minutes of Fongrave, every night of the week.
Les Martinets provides high quality Linvosges towels (A bath towel, a hand towel and face cloth). These are not permitted in the pool area, but pool towels are also provided on request. Bed linens are high quality 100% cotton and duvets and pillows are hypoallergenic with mattress and pillow protectors.
